One of the things that makes Forest Creek such a unique neighborhood in Round Rock is that it was developed in phases in the late 1990s and early 2000s around the Forest Creek Golf Club, which is consistently ranked as one of the top public golf courses in the Austin area.

If you’ve ever noticed the street names throughout the neighborhood, many of them are actually named after famous golfers and golf courses. Streets like Nick Price Loop, Harvey Penick Dr, Golden Bear Dr, Royal Troon, and St Andrews are all references to well-known figures or historic courses in the golf world. It’s a fun detail that ties the entire neighborhood back to the golf course that helped shape the community.

Another interesting part of Forest Creek’s history is that the neighborhood wasn’t built by just one builder. Several builders developed different sections of the community. For example:

• Long Cove – Standard Pacific Homes

Many of those builders later evolved or merged into companies that are still building today. For example, Standard Pacific eventually merged and became part of Lennar, which is now one of the largest homebuilders in the country.

Because different builders worked on different phases, Forest Creek ended up with a great variety of homes and styles, which is one of the reasons the neighborhood has remained so desirable over the years.
